Ink Art and Drawing: My Personal Connection

For as long as I can remember, art has been my natural way of expressing myself. Even as a little girl, when words were not enough, I found myself drawing lines, filling pages with colors, and channeling thoughts and feelings onto paper. I never thought of it as a choice or a profession – it was simply who I was.

At the age of 5, when I learned to read music notes on the piano or my first books, the printed ink on the paper transported me to a world of imagination. The shapes of the notes and letters captivated me. I often wondered how the note came to look as it did, or how the letter "O" resembled the shape of lips when pronounced.

Two years ago, after years of intense work, I decided to take a break from my career. I wanted time to think, to feel, and to reassess what truly drives me. This break not only brought peace and space but also sharpened my deep need to create. It was almost inevitable – every time I tried to step away, my hands found themselves reaching for paper and pens. The need to draw felt like an inner voice I couldn’t ignore.

From this process, my website was born: rominimalistic.com. It’s a place where I share my creations with the world, a platform to showcase my art and connect with people who appreciate minimalist design and ink drawings.

My Inspiration

People, nature, light, and shadow – these have always been my sources of inspiration. The sunlight streaming through a window, the face of someone telling a story, or the shadows playing on the pavement – all of these ignite my desire to capture moments through lines and ink. Over the years, I have experimented with different styles, colors, textures, and techniques. But I have always returned to the simplicity of lines. Ink, with its depth and clarity, allows me to convey a direct message without embellishments.

Why Ink?

There is something magical about ink. This medium is, in a sense, like piano music – it has a clear and distinctive tone, leaving no room for mistakes or concealment. When I draw with ink, I feel like I am engaging in an intimate conversation with the paper. Every line, every blot, every shadowing – everything is precise, and everything tells a story.
